To the family of Eugene W. Berlin, I am sorry for your loss. May you find comfort in knowing God "is close to the brokenhearted."(Psalms 34:18) With sympathy, John.

I didn't know this man but when I read his obituary I smiled. What a wonderful testament to a well-lived life. God speed and may the good Lord bless his survivors.

So sorry for your loss. I hadn't seen Pokey since the mid 90's. We had conversations about the family and the old time reunions at the homestead. He had the gift of story telling just like my mom did. My mom was Roberta Berlin .. Elmer's daughter. After the reunions stopped the extended family members lost connections. Now that mom'said generation has pretty much all passed we children are trying to continue with Berlin reunions here in Warren and hope to renew the feeling of family for future generations. God bless and keep you all.

What a love of life and nature he had. The back bone of his spirit will live forever in all of those who loved and knew him. God speed.

I am so sad to hear this. I have so many memories of Pokey from when I was growing up, and later. He would stop at the garage once and a while and we would share memories of Mayburg and Clinger's lease. When I was little I thought he was the strongest man I knew. I would watch him handle snatch blocks and full oil drums that weighed more than he did. And the stories he would tell, I never quite knew whether to believe him. Rest in peace old friend. You will be missed.

I can remember my parents (Bob and Violet Kinnear) and uncle (Ron Kinnear) speaking very fondly about Pokey. They owned the Kellettville Tavern in the 1970's, early 80's. They loved talking with him and considered him to be a friend. Condolences to his family ❤
