William J. Schiegg, age 86, of Tidioute, PA, formerly of West Mifflin, PA, died on Tuesday morning, August 15, 2023 at his home in Tidioute. He was born May 20, 1937 in Pittsburgh, PA, son of the late William J. and Margaret (Makary) Schiegg.
On October 20, 1962 in Pittsburgh, he married Patricia J. (King) Schiegg, who preceded him in death on July 7, 2023. William served as a Specialist 5 in the U.S. Army. In his younger years, he enjoyed drag racing, winning many awards and trophies. He was co-owner and vice president of Accurate Marking Products, Inc., in Pittsburgh. An all-around outdoorsman, William enjoyed hunting and fishing, and he also enjoyed aviation as a private pilot.
He is survived by two sons, William P. Schiegg and his wife Joann of Saxonburg, PA; and Michael J. Schiegg and his wife Christina Price of Colorado Springs, CO. One brother-in-law, George Gibson of Bethel Park, PA. Several nieces and nephews. Also surviving is his very best canine friend, Mace.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three sisters: Doris Allen, Shirley Gibson, and Iris Schiegg.
There will be no public visitation. All services held will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home of Tionesta, PA. Burial will be at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville, PA.
