Wanda Yvonne (Christy) Williams, aged 89, of Titusville, PA, passed away on August 23, 2024, at the Warren General Hospital in Warren, Pennsylvania. Born on May 19, 1935, in Titusville, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Frank Rockwell and Isabelle Blanche (Rigby) Christy.
Wanda was a compassionate individual who dedicated her life to the service of others. She began her career in high school as a member of the household staff of Mrs. Harriet Hurd (John H.) Scheide of Titusville. She served in that capacity until Mrs. Scheide's passing in 1959. She later provided personal care to the elderly with Mrs. Arthur Murray. Her passion for nursing and helping others led her to earn an LPN license from the Venango County Vo-Tech School of Nursing in 1970 at the age of 35. After nursing school graduation, she was employed by the Presbyterian Home of Titusville. Beginning in 1975, Wanda served as LPN in the Pediatrics Department at Titusville Area Hospital until her marriage in 1992.
As a sweet, compassionate Christian, Wanda was a faithful member of the Bible Methodist churches in DeFuniak Springs, FL, and Miltonvale, KS. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she lived to embody the love of Jesus, touching many lives with her kindness.
Wanda was also a talented pianist and enjoyed cooking, sharing her love through her culinary skills. Her life was enriched by the connections she made, including a cherished circle of friends at Warren Manor in her later years.
Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Wilie F. Williams, her parents, her siblings Ellen Louise (Harold) Pinkerton, Mary E. (Robert, Jr) Gordon, and Raymond (Fabry) Christy, and the following of her beloved nieces and nephews: Edward Christy, Sharon Christy, Martha Jane Pinkerton, and H. James Pinkerton, Jr.
She is survived by her sisters, Isabelle June (Donald) Hull of Hydetown and Alice (William) Rigby of Titusville, along with numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Wanda’s family is grateful to her nieces, Bonnie Sue Mahin and Susan Boss, of Miltonvale, KS; Lois Ann Crouch of Titusville, PA; and Marilee Gordon of Abilene, KS who lovingly cared for her at home prior to relocating to Warren Manor.
Friends will be received at the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home of Tionesta, PA, on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 am with Rev.
