Walter James Baier, 78 of Shaler Twp. Allegheny County died April 25, 2007. Dear husband of Evelyn Anna (Jocz) Baier and devoted Father of David Walter Baier.
Walter "Walt" was born May 21,1928 in Pittsburgh, PA. He was the beloved son of Joseph A. and Elizabeth C. (Thompson) Baier and the brother of Carl (Ivy) Baier, Betty (Eugene)O'Brien and Theresa (Bill) Kelleher, Joseph Baier, brother-in-law also to Robert (Joann) Jocz, also having nieces and nephews.
Walter owned "Baier Plastering" providing custom interior wall finishes, crown molding, medallions, and exterior stucco services. He was also a skilled backhoe operator. Walter was a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran serving as a Corporal with the 984th Army Field Engineers Batallion. He was an Honorary Lifetime member of Etna VFD. Walt loved working in his wood craft loft, football, his doggie pal Maggie, and fishing and boating days on the Allegheny in Tionesta, PA
His family made private arrangements via Worrell/Slater Cremation Services, Sharpsburg, PA, and the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home of Tionesta. Laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery in Tionesta.
