Susan E. (McMichael) Mealy

   Susan E. (McMichael) Mealy, age 78, of Tionesta, PA, died on Sunday, October 20, 2019 at her home in Tionesta.   She was born October 28, 1940 in Titusville, PA, daughter of the late Jack and Grace E. (Johnston) McMichael. 

   Sue graduated from Tionesta High School in 1958 and went on to receive her Associate of Arts degree from Robert Morris College for Secretarial Studies of Pittsburgh (Moon Twp.).   She had been previously employed at Cyclops of Titusville, the United States Post Office in Tionesta for 25 years, and then retired from the Allegheny Card Company of Tionesta.  She attended the Tionesta Church of God, was active for many years with the Tionesta Community Association and the Tionesta Indian Festival Committee, was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Tionesta Volunteer Fire Department, and the Red Hat Society of Tionesta.

   She is survived by four daughters, Kimberly M. Nutter and her husband Bernard of Salisbury, MD.; Lori L. Birch and her husband Jeff of Tionesta; Elizabeth I. Hilliard and her husband DuValle, also of Salisbury; Jamie L. Say and her husband Greg, also of Tionesta; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; father of her children, Howard J. “Sonny” Mealy of Tionesta who she married July 2, 1960 and several nieces and nephews.

   In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by three grandchildren, a brother, Gary J. McMichael and a son-in-law Charles “Chuck” Birch. 

   Friends will be received on Monday, October 21, 2019 from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home of Tionesta.  Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at 11 am at the funeral home with Associate Pastor Samuel J. Wagner of Christ United Methodist Church, Franklin, PA, officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Collins Cemetery, Tionesta.
