Savilla E. "Sue" McKean

   Savilla E. “Sue” McKean, age 97, a lifelong resident of Tidioute, PA, died on Saturday, September 27, 2015 at the Titusville Hospital, Titusville, PA.  She was born June 25, 1918 in West Hickory, PA, daughter of the late Edward L. and Geneva (Dunham) Storer. 

   In September, 1938 she married Lyle L. McKean who died March 9, 1983.  The couple owned and operated a dairy farm in Tidioute for many years.  She was a 1936 graduate of Tidioute High School and was the last surviving member of her class.  She was a member of the Watson Twp. Ladies Home Extension.  Sue enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, reading, crossword puzzles, flowers and plants, and loved to watch Jeopardy on the TV. 

   Surviving are a son, George B McKean of Raleigh, NC.  A daughter, Elsie V. Ressler of Tidioute.  Seven grandchildren; Tracy Graham of Fredericksburg, VA; Kelley McKean of Tidioute; Amy Snyder of Raleigh, NC; Dana Hayson of Fombell, PA; Ryan McKean and Bernie McKean, both also of Raleigh.  Lori Ann Anderson of Warren, PA.  Nine great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.  Several nieces and nephews. 

   In addition to her parents and husband Sue was preceded in death by a son, Edward L “Pat” McKean.  A daughter, Millie L. Anderson.  Three sisters; June Bailey; Alice Henderson; Dorothy Gibson.

   Friends will be received at the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home of Tionesta, PA on Wednesday from 5-8 PM.  A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, October 1, 2015, 1 PM at the funeral home with Catrina J. Leamon, Associate Pastor of the Tidioute, Grand Valley and Sanford United Methodist Church, officiating.  Burial at the Limestone Twp Cemetery near Tidioute. 

   Memorial contributions may be made to the Tidioute Community Charter School 241 Main St. Tidioute, PA 16351.
