Ruth A. Kiefer

     Ruth A. Kiefer, age 85, of Tionesta, PA, died on Tuesday morning, April 22, 2025, at UPMC Northwest Hospital in Seneca, PA.  She was born April 7, 1940, in President Township, Venango County, PA, daughter of the late Harold E. and Pearle (Sandrock) Hill. 

     Ruth graduated as valedictorian of the West Forest High School class of 1958.  On August 24, 1963, at the Tionesta Church of God, she married Terry P. Kiefer, who preceded her in death on August 26, 2010.  She worked at Warren National Bank for eight years, as a waitress at the Knotty Pine Restaurant in Tionesta for 20 years, and as a baker at Sara Jane’s Deli in Fryburg, PA.  Ruth was a longtime active member of the Good Shepherd Global Methodist Church in Tylersburg, PA, where she attended Sunday School with perfect attendance for 28 years, served as treasurer for over 20 years, and was a member of the Dorcas Circle.  She was also an avid and award-winning baker.

     She is survived by her son, Curt Kiefer and his wife Annette, of Tionesta, and her daughter, Faith A. Morrison and her husband George of Beaver Falls, PA.  Her grandson, Caleb Kiefer and his wife Miranda of Michigan.  Three granddaughters: Kimberly Crognale and her husband Travis of Beaver Falls, Marissa Teets and her husband Jordan of Ellwood City, PA, and Heather Morrison, also of Beaver Falls.  Four great grandchildren: Holden Kiefer, Luke and Liam Crognale, and Isabella Teets.  Her brother, Homer Hill of Tionesta.  Her sister-in-law, Elaine Hill of Sharon, PA.  Several nieces and nephews.

     In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Everett “Pete” Hill, and two sisters, Helen Smith and Anna Hundley.  Two brothers-in-law, Walter Smith and Del Hundley.  A sister-in-law, Mary Ann Hill.

     Friends will be received from 10 AM – 1 PM on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at the Good Shepherd Global Methodist Church, 9870 Route 36, Tionesta, PA 16353.  Services will follow at 1 PM with Rev. Richard J. Helsel, her pastor, officiating.  Burial will be alongside her husband at Lickingville Cemetery, Lickingville, PA.  Arrangements are under the directions of the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home of Tionesta.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ruth’s memory to the Good Shepherd Global Methodist Church, 9870 Route 36, Tionesta, PA 16353.
