Philip R. Novosel, age 79, of Baytown, Texas, formerly of Warren and Tionesta, PA, died on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at his home in Baytown. He was born April 28, 1943 in Pittsburgh, PA, son of the late Philip R. and Mary (Bell) Novosel Sr.
After moving to Tionesta, Phil worked for Struthers Wells of Titusville, PA, then moved on to National Forge in Irvine, PA where he worked first as a machinist and later as the head Forman of the Finishing Department. He then moved on and worked for Hoover Oil Fields of Clarendon, PA as a salesman later moving to Texas when the company opened a branch in Winnie, Texas. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #726 F&AM of Warren, PA. Phil was an accomplished artist and loved to paint, he was an avid Nascar fan, enjoyed fishing, boating and hunting, and was well known for his ability to roast a pretty good pig.
On August 14, 1993 in Youngville, PA he married Bonny (Hoy) Novosel who survives in Baytown, Texas. Also surviving are a son, Scott R. Novosel and his companion Lindsay Steiner of Erie, PA. Three daughters, Denise J. Saxton and her husband Ray of Tionesta; Pamela R Novosel and her husband Mike Turner of Wilmington, NC; Kimberly N. Blasco and her husband Paul of Russell, PA. A step-daughter, Christine J. Scott and her husband Jeffrey of Houston, Texas. Eleven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren. A sister, Linda Patterson and her husband John of Elbridge, New York….and the mother of his four children, Vivian (States) Novosel of Wilmington, NC, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Jeanne Schmitt.
Friends will be received at the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home on Friday, September 2nd, 2022 from
6-8 PM. Friends will again be received on Saturday, September 3rd from 10-11 AM at which time the Masonic Lodge will offer Masonic Services at 11 AM.
