Mercedes J. Detman

   Mercedes “Sis” Detman, age 78, of Leeper, PA, formerly of Glassport, PA, died on Monday, October 10, 2022 at her home in Leeper.  She was born August 2, 1944 in McKeesport, PA, daughter of the late Lorenzo and Marie (Kuzio) Richards.

   She was married to Ronald Detman who died May 17, 2004.  After moving to her home near the Tionesta/Leeper area, she attended St. Anthony’s R.C. Church in Tionesta.  She loved her country home and enjoyed “manicuring” the grounds surrounding it.  She also enjoyed crocheting.  While living in McKeesport, she worked as a lunch maid for Auberle, an emergency shelter that cared for displaced children. 

   Surviving are two sons, Ronald Detman and his wife Sharon Robinson and their children, Tony Robinson, Sandy Birch, and Michael Johnson all of Gainesville, Georgia;  Todd “Bucky” Detman of Tionesta and his son, Dylan Detman of Carrolton, Georgia.  A brother, Larry Richards and his children of Florida.  A sister, Linda Oslowski and her husband Rick of New Hampshire. Uncle and Aunt Walt and Jackie Detman of Lincoln Boro, PA and their children. Niece Rica Oslowski and her children Morgan and Kelly, all of Elizabeth, PA along with other nieces and nephews that survive. 

   In addition to her parents and husband Ronald she was also preceded in death by a brother Jay Richards.

   There will be no public visitation.  Burial will be alongside her husband at Round Hill Cemetery in Elizabeth, PA.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home of Tionesta, PA.  Messages of sympathy may be left at www.wimerfuneralhome.com
