Mary Lee Gillenwater, age 77, of Tionesta, PA, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2022 at her home in Tionesta, surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 18, 1945 in Taylorville, West Virginia.
Mary loved to spend time with her family and friends, and before her health prevented it she enjoyed going to casinos. She had a lifelong love for her small dogs, including her current canine companion, Precious. She also enjoyed cooking, writing, painting and ceramics.
Mary is survived by four sons: Billy Jack Gillenwater and his fiancée Sandra Taylor of Tionesta; Perry E. Gillenwater of Tionesta; Ruben D. Gillenwater and his wife Misty of Pleasantville, PA; and Joseph L. Gillenwater and his fiancée Holly Thomas of East Hickory, PA; Three daughters: Laura I. Divido of Tionesta, Caroleia Y. ‘Half Pint’ Strandberg and her husband Gerald of Waynesboro, VA; and Virginia Engleman of Jacksonville FL; 19 grandchildren, and 27 great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents Elmer Justice and Allie (Grimmet) Justice, three sisters Anna Mae Ferrell of Huntington WV; and Diane Justice of KY; Lisa Justice; two brothers, Ray Justice of NC; Ted Justice of KY; as well as her husband of 32 years, Michael H. Engleman who passed June 3, 2017. Michael was the love of her life.
Friends are welcome to attend a funeral service on Saturday December 17, 2022 at 10:30 A.M. at the Norman J. Wimer Funeral home of Tionesta with Rev. Jo-Ann C. Mlakar, pastor of Word of Grace Full Gospel Fellowship in Tionesta officiating.
Burial will be alongside her husband Mike, at Mt. Collins Cemetery in Tionesta. Memorial contributions can be made to the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 389, Tionesta, PA 16353 to assist the family with funeral expenses.
