Lois A. Walsh

     Lois A. Walsh, age 85, of Tionesta, PA., went home to be with her Savior on Saturday, August 15, 2026.  After a lengthy illness, she passed away peacefully at UPMC Shadyside in Pittsburgh, PA.  She was born July 20, 1941, in Greensburg, PA, daughter of the late Donald H. and Evalyn G. (Howell) Fennell. 

     On May 13, 1961, at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, in the Northside of Pittsburgh, she married Thomas L. Walsh.  He survives and was her devoted husband of 65 years.

     Lois was a faithful member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church of Tionesta, of which she and her husband were founding members.  The church began as a Bible study in their home.  Over the years, Lois loved serving her church family by singing in the choir, playing the piano and helping with many other activities.  She also cherished their “second” church family and many friends at Florida Holiness Campground in Lakeland, FL, where she and Tom spent their winters for the past 25 years.

     Lois worked during her early years in Tionesta for Dr. Young C. Fan, followed by several years at Blum’s General Merchandise in the heart of Tionesta.

     Lois found great joy in life's simple pleasures.  She enjoyed reading, crocheting, working on jigsaw puzzles, listening to southern gospel music, volunteering for the Salvation Army and playing games – especially Dominoes and Skip-Bo.  But her favorite pastime was spending time with the people she loved, sharing meals, laughter and fellowship with her many friends and beloved family.

     In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Kelly L. Wedekind and her husband, Mark,  of Eldersburg, Maryland; her son, Keith T. Walsh and his wife, Pamela, of Zelienople, PA; and four grandchildren, Alexander Wedekind, of Eldersburg, Maryland, Mara Wedekind of Livingston, Montana, Mollie Wedekind of Sykesville, Maryland, and Benjamin Walsh of Alexandria, Virginia.  She is also survived by two sisters, Carol Six and her husband, Charles “Chuck,” of Tionesta, and Kay Johnston and her husband, Kenneth, of Florida, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  Lois shared a special bond with her nephew, Jeff Six, whose love and support meant so much to her.

     Lois will be remembered for her steadfast faith, gentle spirit, generous heart, and the love she shared so freely with her family, church, and many friends. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her family finds comfort in knowing she is now home with her Savior.

     The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Richard Whalen, Jennifer Sutley, LPN, and Dr. Thomas Young and all their staffs, for their compassionate care, kindness, and unwavering support.

     Friends and family will be received at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Tionesta on Saturday, August 22, 2026, from noon to 1 PM, followed by a celebration of Lois’s life.  Burial will take place at a later date at Riverside Cemetery in Tionesta.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Norman J.
