August 18, 1948 ~ July 7, 2024 (age 75) 75 Years Old

Linda A. Rankin Obituary

   It is with heavy hearts that we announce Linda A. Rankin, age 75, Tionesta, PA, formerly of Jamestown, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 7, 2024 at UPMC Hamot in Erie, PA.  She was surrounded by her loving family. Linda was born August 18, 1948 in Millvale, PA, daughter of the late Charles and Dorothy Mae (Straile) Walters.

   On May 21, 1988 she married David G. Rankin in Jamestown, PA, who survives.  While living in Jamestown Linda was an EMT for the Jamestown Volunteer Fire Department plus a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, along with being the secretary of the VFD.  She loved to cook, especially bake, and her hobbies included needle point and crochet.  She enjoyed the camping trips, fishing, hunting, and anything outdoors with her husband of 36 years by her side.  She was a member of the Tionesta United Methodist Church where she was president and chairperson of the church council.  Linda is dearly loved and will be missed by her entire family and friends.

   In addition to her husband surviving is her son, Charles E. Tunstall and his wife Laura of Cochranton, PA, and their daughter Samantha.   Her daughter, Melissa M. Eynon and her husband Sean of Jamestown, PA, and Melissa’s daughter, Adrianne Hamilton, and stepson’s Cody and Nicholas Eynon all of Greenville, PA.  Two step-sons, David D. Rankin and his wife Cindy of Bristolville, Ohio, and their children Brandon Rankin of Struthers, Ohio, Nathan, James, Charity and Star Rankin, all of Bristolville.  Mark J. Rankin and his wife Charity of Orlando, Florida, and their family James Rankin and his wife Meagan of Mars, PA, Roman Rankin, also of Orlando.   One step-daughter, Diana D. Johnston and her husband Donald of Wexford, PA and their children Sarah Johnston and her fiancé Adam of Las Vegas, Nevada, Scott Johnston of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Alaina Johnston of Wexford.  Two great-grandchildren.  A sister also survives, Nellie Namestka and her husband Wib of Nevada.  Several nieces and nephews.  

   In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and John Walters and step-granddaughter, Cerenity Rankin. 

   Friends will be received on Thursday at the Tionesta United Methodist Church from noon to 1pm followed by funeral services at 1pm with Pastor David DeGroff officiating. Following the services burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Tionesta.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home of Tionesta.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to the Hillman Cancer Center Foundation of UPMC Northwest c/o UPMC Cancer Pavilion, Suite 1B,  5150 Centre Avenue Pittsburgh, PA 15232.
