Lawrence “Larry” Imperiale, age 75, of Tionesta, PA, formerly of Vandergrift, PA, died on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at St. Vincent Hospital in Erie, PA. He was born December 3, 1947 in Pittsburgh, PA, son of the late Emidio Imperiale and Elma (Marimpietri) Imperiale Dent.
Larry graduated from Kiski Area High School in 1965. After school, he enlisted and was career military serving with the US Air Force and Air National Guard during Vietnam and Desert Storm retiring as a Master Sergeant in 1995 after 23 years of service. He later worked for Vision Quest in Franklin, PA as a transporter, and with his love of horses, he also worked for Venango Area Riding for the Handicapped Association (VAHRA). He loved hunting, fishing, and everything about the outdoors. He was fond of and cared for multiple animals and pets. His passion was his love for his horses and enjoyed talking about them with friends and family. Larry enjoyed every minute with his two granddaughters, Jaycee and Hazel. They were his best friends.
Surviving are three sons: Andrew A. Tkach and his wife Miriah of Tionesta, and their two daughters, Jaycee and Hazel; Larry Imperiale, Jr.; and Vincent Imperiale; and a daughter, Gina. A brother, Michael J. Imperiale of Jeannette, PA. A step-brother, Albert C. Dent and his wife Peggy, also of Jeannette. A half-sister, Susan Guillen of Connecticut. Many nieces and nephews.
There will be no public visitation. All services held will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home of Tionesta. Memorial contributions may be made to the West Hickory Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 8, West Hickory, PA 16370.
