Larry R. Carnahan, age 79, of East Hickory, PA, formerly of Tidioute, PA, died on Thursday, September 1, 2016 along with his wife, Dorothy, as a result of a motor vehicle accident in East Hickory.
He was born October 13, 1936 in Tidioute, son of the late Edson E. and Zora M. (McKown) Carnahan.
On October 15, 1955 in Jamestown, NY he married Dorothy M. (Martin) Carnahan.
He retired from National Forge (now Ellwood City Forge) in Irvine, PA where he worked as a lathe operator. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Surviving are three daughters, Jeanna M. Carnahan of Tidioute; Debra Z. Moore and her husband Troy also of Tidioute; Melinda R. Strait of Pittsfield, PA. Nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A sister, Zo-Anne Nicholson and her husband James of Tidioute. Several nieces and nephew. Will be greatly missed by his beloved dog, Benji.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Norwood E. Carnahan, and David in infancy.
There will be no public visitation. A memorial service will be conducted on Wednesday, September 7, 2016, 11 am, at the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home of Tionesta with Rev. Randy L. Evans, Clarion/Forest VNA Hospice Chaplain. Burial will be at Tidioute Cemetery.
