Kevin R. Swartz

     Kevin R. Swartz, age 63, of West Hickory, PA, formerly of Hubbard, OH, and West Middlesex, PA, died on Monday, May 12, 2025 at Oil City Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Oil City, PA.  He was born in on July 17, 1961 in Sharon, PA, son of the late Walter W. Swartz and Esta Mae Swartz Stafford, who survives in West Middlesex.

     He graduated from West Middlesex High School in 1979.  He was a lifetime member of ABATE of PA, and was a past president of the Mercer County Chapter.  He was also a member of the Legion Riders of Mercer, PA, Chapter 159.  He so loved living the outdoor life, and loved his fur babies at home who miss him dearly.

     He leaves behind his wife, Kelly A. (Barnes) Swartz.  They have spent 27 wonderful years together.  In addition to his mother, he is also survived by two sons, Travis R. Swartz of Clarion, PA; Philip Risch and his wife Nicole of Greenville, SC.  Two daughters, Megan Brandan of Hermitage, PA; Morgan Grandy and her husband Jared of Sharpsville, PA.  Three stepdaughters, Jessica Howard and her husband Cameron of Columbus OH; Rebecca Shamblin of Rouseville, PA; Elizabeth Darlington and her husband Zakk of Girard, OH.  Two brothers, Howard Swartz and his wife Tricia of Reynolds, PA; William Stafford and his wife Patty of Clark, PA.  His uncle, Dennis Javens and his wife Janet of Hermitage.  His grandchildren: Nicholas, Mackenna, Grayson, Jaxson, Oliver, Finn, and a baby boy on the way.  Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws who loved him dearly.

      In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Howard Stafford, who raised him from a small child.  Also deceased are his maternal grandparents, Betty and Howard Javens, and his father-in-law, Terrance Barnes. 

     Ride on and chase those sunsets!

     There will be no public visitation.  A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at 2 P.M. at the Harmony Township Community Center, 95 Center Circle Street, West Hickory, PA 16730.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home of Tionesta.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 389, Tionesta, PA 16353 to assist the family with funeral expenses.
