Janice L. (Wise) “Jan” Patterson, age 79, of Tionesta, PA, more recently of Charleston, West Virginia, died on Saturday, March 21, 2026, in Charleston. She was born June 13, 1946, in Brookville, PA, daughter of the late Homer Glenn and Florence (Gardner) Wise.
On September 10, 1966, at the Tionesta United Methodist Church, she married Warren Frederick “Fred” Patterson who survives in Charleston.
Jan graduated from West Forest High School in Tionesta. Upon graduation, she attended Robert Morris University achieving an associates degree. Jan and Fred enjoyed a simple retirement and loved to be around their two sons and grandchildren. She enjoyed water aerobics and dancing every chance she could. The Pattersons loved the Tionesta Indian Festival and could be found every year in August for the week of the festivities sitting at the local motel’s porch, always at the same room, next to the main road of Tionesta, that way they could see and talk to friends who happened to be strolling by.
