Jack E. Bunting, Jr., age 71, of Marienville, PA, formerly of Pittsburgh, PA, died on Monday, August 9, 2021 at his home in Marienville. He was born December 21, 1949 in Stuttgart, Germany, son of the late Jack E. Bunting, Sr., and the late Edelgard (Kalmbach) Bunting.
Jack served three tours of duty with the 7th Cavalry Regiment as a medic in Vietnam. He went on to earn his Associate’s Degree from the Boyce Campus of the Community College of Allegheny County. He worked at UPMC Braddock and later retired from UPMC McKeesport, where he worked as a Mental Health Specialist. He was a member of the Veterans Club of Forest County in Marienville.
He is survived by his daughter, Amanda G. Shupe and her husband Jason of Vandergrift, PA. Two granddaughters, Destiny and Carly Shupe, both at home in Vandergrift. Three brothers: Ronald Bunting of Pittsburgh, Dennis Bunting and his wife Donna of Sigel, PA, and Kurt Bunting of Carnegie, PA. His sister, Elizabeth Francis and her husband Roy of Canonsburg, PA. Many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Bunting.
There will be no public visitation. All services held will be private. Interment will be at Starr Cemetery, Tionesta, PA. Arrangements are under the direction of the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home of Tionesta.
