Homer L. Hill, Sr.

    Homer L. Hill,Sr., lifetime resident of President Twp., Venango County passed away peacefully at his home on August 4, 2026.  He was 89 years old.  Homer was born on February 15, 1937, the son of the late Harold E. Hill and E. Pearl Hill.   He is the last living relative of his generation.

     Homer was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Mary Ann Carrier Hill, who died October 9, 2023.

     Homer attended the McCalmont School and graduated in 1955 from Tionesta High School. He was employed by WEBCO Industries in Oil City, PA until his retirement in 1998. Also, Homer was a President Township Supervisor for over 30 years.  His hobbies included woodworking, hunting, fishing, and traveling. He was able to travel throughout the continental U.S., Alaska and Hawaii to visit family. He also enjoyed attending his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s school, sporting, and military events.  Homer was very faithful and attended the Venus United Evangelical Church.

     Homer is survived by his children Melinda (John) Bailey of Tionesta, Peggie (Curt) Gaul of Lincoln, Delaware, Kelly (Fred) Peters of Middletown, PA, Homer (Tammy) Hill of Yorktown, VA, and Todd (Kim) Hill of Carlisle, Pa. He had 12 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

     In addition to his wife and parents, Homer was preceded by his brother Everett “Pete” Hill and his wife Elaine; sisters Helen O. Smith and her husband Walter, Ruth Kiefer and her husband Terry, and Anna Hundley and her husband Del.

     The family would like to extend a special thanks to Amy and Angie from AseraCare Hospice for their compassionate care over the last few months.

     Family and friends will be received on Friday, August 7, 2026, from 3-5 pm at the Venus United Evangelical Church, 113 Route 157 Venus, Pa 16364, with a service to follow at 5 pm with Pastor Richard A Kightlinger officiating.  A private burial will be at Fertigs Cemetery in Fertigs, Pa. 

     Arrangements are under the direction of the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home of Tionesta.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund at Venus United Evangelical Church, 113 Route 157, Venus, Pa. 16364.
