George W. "Pap Lazybones" Gavrus

   George W. "Pap Lazy Bones" Gavrus, age 71, of Tionesta, PA, formerly of Glassport, PA, died on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at the Butler Memorial Hospital, Butler, PA. with his loving family by his side.  He was born October 21, 1949 in McKeesport, PA, son of the late George and Sophie (Curtician) Gavrus.

     George was a Vietnam Veteran serving with the United States Navy. He then later worked for US Steel for 35 years at the Irvin Works in West Miffilin, PA as a Grinder.   He was married to Charlayne (March) Gavrus, who survives in Tionesta.

   In addition to his wife, also surviving are two daughters, Brandy (Gavrus) Nolder of New Manchester, West Virginia; Christi Cooper-Gavrus and her fiancé Russell Milslagle JR of Port Vue, PA.  Two grandchildren, Marissa Nolder and her fiancé Nicholas Tice of Virginia; Jocelyn Nolder, also of New Manchester, West Virginia. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, coach and friend.
