Frederick E. Shulin

Frederick E. Shulin, age 71, of Las Vegas, Nevada,  recently of Tionesta, PA,  passed quietly in the early hours of August 26, 2016 from the lingering affects of Agent Orange Exposure while serving two tours in Viet Nam.   He is the son of the late Frederick F. and Edna (Schultz) Shulin. 

He is survived by his wife Sharon (McGee) Shulin who he married on December 28, 1984 in Santa Ana, CA.  His children are Ellen Rutherford of Pleasantville PA and her soon to be married to husband as of 9/17/2016, Jason Rutherford; Vincent Shulin of Las Vegas; Sarah Girardi of Dubois, PA and her husband Dr. David Girardi; Patrick Barnes and David Barnes, both of Las Vegas.  The Grandchildren are Mathew, Andrew and Amanda Henson of Arkansas; Cole and Christian Barnes of CA;  Robert Barnes of Arkansas;  Callie, Aubrey and Catherine Girardi of Dubois, PA; Emma McGinnis of Tionesta and Weston and Colton Rutherford of Pleasantville, PA.  Great-grandchildren are Wyatt and Destiny Henson of Arkansas.   Also surviving are his sister Frances Combs of Hemet, CA. and her husband Gary. 

He was preceded in death by his daughter Diana Barnes-Clark.  A sister Mary E. O’Rourke.

Fred was career military and served over 20 years in the U.S. Army.  He was a member of the Amvets Post #113, Tionesta, PA and the VFW.  He loved hunting, fishing and mowing the fields on his Tionesta farm.  He was always willing to help others in any way he could.  Most of all he loved his family.

There will be a gathering of friends and family on Monday, September 19, 2016 at 1 PM at the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home, Tionesta, PA.  Full military rights will be accorded.  Burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington D.C.  In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Amvets Post #113  PO Box 24 Tionesta, PA 16353.
