Frank B. Merlino Obituary

Frank B. “Butchie” Merlino, age 74, of Philadelphia, PA, died on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 in Forest County, PA. He was born October 9, 1946 in Philadelphia, son of the late Frank and Gemma (Zappalorta) Merlino.

Frank attended South Philadelphia High School where he played football. He worked for the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission as a Toll Collector from 1993 until he retired in 2007. He enjoyed baseball umpiring in the Philadelphia area.

He is survived by two sons, Frank Ridolfi and his wife Erica of Florida; Frank B. Merlino of Philadelphia. Three daughters, Sherry (Hahn) Antonucci and her husband Anthony of Philadelphia; Christie Foti and her husband Damian of New Jersey; Deanna Merlino and her finance’ Chis Curry, also of Philadelphia. Eight grandchildren. One great-grandson.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Chirico.

A memorial service will be announced and held at a later date in Philadelphia. Arrangements are under the direction of the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home of Tionesta.
