Frank Keefer 3rd

   Frank “Fritz” Keefer 3rd, age 96, of Tionesta, PA formerly of Monaca, PA, died on Friday, January 24, 2025, at his home in Tionesta.  He was born July 14, 1928, in Aliquippa, PA, son of the late Frank Keefer and Margaret Mae (Towery) Keefer.

   On February 5, 1949, in Center Township, Beaver County, PA, he married Betty Jane (Johnson) Keefer who died August 21, 2013.  Frank was employed by LTV (formerly J&L), a steel mill in Aliquippa, as a Steelworker.  He retired in 1986.   Fritz was a talented woodcarver, loved to hunt and fish, and was an assistant Scout Master for Troop 434 in Center Township.

  He is survived by a son, George D. Keefer, Sr., and his fiancé Linda Hajtol, both of Greenville, PA.  A daughter, Brenda Lee Bolam and her husband Bill of Industry, PA.  A daughter-in-law, Cindy Keefer of Tidioute, PA.  Ten grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. 

   In addition to his parents and wife Betty Jane, Frank was preceded in death by a son, Keith F. Keefer, a daughter and son-in-law, Valerie and Terry Galino.  A grandson is also deceased, Lee Galino, as well as Frank’s sister, Iris Johnson. 

   Friends will be received at the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home of Tionesta on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M.  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, 11 A.M., at the funeral home with Rev. David DeGroff, pastor of the Tionesta United Methodist Church, officiating.  Memorial contributions may be made to Children’s Hospital, 4401 Penn Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15224.
