Elsie V. (Saxton) Remines

Elsie V. (Saxton) Remines, age 83, of Tionesta, PA, passed away suddenly on Monday evening, December 12, 2016 into the everlasting arms of her Savior at Clarion Hospital, Clarion, PA.  She was born October 17, 1933 in Tionesta, daughter of the late Ray and Waive (Cropp) Saxton.  

She attended the Tionesta Church of God.  She enjoyed playing the piano and organ.  She was also very talented at crocheting and knitting and made a lot of clothes for herself. 

She was married to Howard Stitzinger until his death in 1970.  Surviving are their children, Paul I. Stitzinger and his wife Connie of Knox, PA; Wanda Verga, and her husband Tony of Spring Creek, PA; Ruth White and her husband Wayne of North Tazewell, VA; and Charlotte Robbins and her husband Richard of Groves, TX.  Twelve grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren also survive, along with several nieces and nephews.

Elsie was preceded in death by her second husband, Robert Luker, in 1991.  In 2009, Claude Remines, her third husband, then preceded her in death.  In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a brother, Hubert Saxton, two sisters, Katherine Ulan and Juanita Gigliotti, and a grandson, Mathew Mendoza.

Friends will be received at the Tionesta Church of God, 1582 Route 36, Tionesta, PA 16353 on Sunday, December 18, 2016, from 2 P.M. until 3 P.M., at which time services will be conducted by Rev. Terry McGarrity, her pastor.

Burial at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Tionesta Twp., Forest Co. PA.
