Donald J. Reiland, age 81, of Tionesta, PA, died on Monday, May 18, 2026, at his home in Tionesta… “The Reiland Farm”. He was born August 25, 1944, in Pittsburgh, PA, son of the late Joseph and Rita (Winschell) Reiland.
He was Catholic by faith and attended All Saints Elementary School followed by attending and graduating from North Catholic High School in 1962, both of Pittsburgh. On July 4, 1964, in Wildwood, PA he married his high school sweetheart, Sharon L. (Stritzinger) Reiland. The couple have been together for 61 years. Don enlisted in the United States Coast Guard serving in Monterey, California; Kodiak, Alaska; St Petersburg and Jacksonville, Florida. His rank was Yeoman Second Class. After his military discharge he attended Triangle Tech in Pittsburgh.
In 1976 Don and his wife moved to the family farm in Forest County. He enjoyed building barns, raising livestock…especially Llamas, and “making hay”. He worked for many companies in their respective engineering departments including Conair and retiring from Joy Manufacturing, both in Franklin, PA. Don was an active member with the Tionesta Amvets Post #113.
Surviving in addition to his wife Sharon is a son, David Andrew Reiland, who lives at home. One daughter-in-law, Michele L. Reiland of Erie, PA, and grandchildren Kristin, Julia, and Andrew. One brother, Richard Reiland and his wife Marjorie of Gibsonia, PA. One sister, Kathy Arndt of Pittsburgh. One sister-in-law, Kathy Reiland. Several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Keith F. Reiland. A brother, David Reiland.
Friends will be received at the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home of Tionesta on Friday, May 22, 2026, from 10 am to 11 am followed by a service at 11 am. Burial will be at Neiltown Cemetery in Neiltown, Harmony Township, Forest County, PA.
