Obituary

     David W. Schneider, age 77, of Tionesta, PA, formerly of Erie, PA, died on Monday, December 5, 2022 at his home in Tionesta.  He was born August 1, 1945 in Erie, PA, son of the late Frederick G. and Jean (Rapela) Schneider.
     He served as a Boiler Technician in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, aboard the USS Meredith, and the USS Hardwood, both destroyers.  On April 16, 1966, he married Marilyn (Banks) Schneider, who preceded him in death on August 12, 2017.  David retired from GE Transportation in Erie where he worked building locomotives.  He was a member of United Electrical Workers #506 of Erie.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing. 
     He is survived by his son, Keith D. Schneider and his wife Christine of Cleveland, OH.  His daughter, Tammy L. Murphy and her husband Jim of Geneva, OH.  Four grandchildren: Paige, Hannah, Logan, and Wyatt.  His sister, Joanne David of Fairview, PA.  Several  Nieces and Nephews.
     In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by six brothers, Richard, Donald, James, Robert, Ron, and Tom Schneider; and a sister, Connie Holby. 
     There will be no public visitation.  All services held will be private.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home of Tionesta.
