Dalbert J. “Butch” Eckert, age 75, of Tionesta, PA, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, April 16, 2025. He was born on August 10, 1949 in Oil City, PA, the son of the late Dalbert C. and Rose (Sipes) Eckert.
Butch was a 1967 graduate of Ambridge High School in Ambridge, PA, and proudly served his country as a Vietnam Veteran. He later worked as a custodian at West Forest High School in Tionesta where he made many friendships until his retirement.
A man of many interests, Butch was an avid collector, hunter, antique car enthusiast, and a saltwater aquarium keeper. He was rarely without a project and always eager to learn something new or take on the next hobby.
Butch will be remembered as a devoted father and brother, and as someone who would sacrifice anything for his family. He had a generous heart and oved helping others, traits that left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his son, Timothy Eckert and his wife Riley of Clearwater, Florida; his beloved dog, Pixie; two brothers, Daniel and Dennis Eckert, both of Beaver County, PA
A Celebration of the life of Butch Eckert will be held on Sunday, October 19 2025 at 1 pm, at the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home of Tionesta, where family, friends, co-workers and community members are invited to gather and share their favorite memories of Butch.
