Charles H. "Chuck" Holt Obituary

     Charles H. “Chuck” Holt, age 82, of Tionesta, PA, died on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at the Clarion Hospital in Clarion, PA.  He was born July 17, 1942 in Olean, NY, son of the late Charles S. Holt and Evelyn (Moss) McWilliams, who was married to Oliver McWilliams and is also deceased. 

     On July 20, 1962, at the Lickingville EUB Church, he married Joy Ellen (Porter) Holt, who preceded him in death on January 23, 2018.  The couple started out as elementary school sweethearts, meeting in the seventh grade.  They were inseparable and shared many professions. 

     Charles (more known as Chuck) was employed as a mechanic and truck driver.  He drove school bus for Forest Area School District for 18 years, a profession he shared with his wife, Joy, and their only daughter, Ellen.  Charles also drove motorcoach for 9 years, where he and Joy ran tours.  In 1990, Charles received the honor of being selected by Queen Elizabeth to tour with the Battle of Britain 50th Anniversary tour with the Royal Air Force Band and the BBC Singers, which was sponsored by the Mantovani Orchestra.  Later, during retirement, Charles, with his wife by his side, delivered the Oil City Derrick and the Clarion News to hundreds of subscribers in the Tionesta area.

     Surviving is his daughter, Ellen Holt, of Tionesta, as well as several nieces and nephews.  He was the last surviving member of his family.

     In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by half-brothers Charles McWilliams, Carl D. McWilliams, Keith McWilliams, and half-sister, Karen (McWilliams) Swarm.

     As per Charles’ wishes, there will be no visitation or services.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home of Tionesta.  Burial will be alongside his wife at Washington Cemetery, Washington Twp., Clarion Co., PA.
