Beulah J. (Silvis) McAfoose, age 93, of Tidioute, PA, died on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at the Rouse Home in Youngsville, PA. She was born May 23, 1931 in Brookville, PA, daughter of the late Merle S. and Twila O. (Werick) Silvis.
On June 13, 1949 in Brookville she married Rev. G. Donald McAfoose who died May 7, 2011. She was a member of the Tidioute Methodist Church and a part of the Good Shepherd Circle of the church. There was nothing that Beulah loved and enjoyed more than the simple life that included and surrounded her family. She loved all of her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and was able to spend time with her recently born great-great granddaughter. She was a “preacher’s wife” and was by her husband’s side throughout their 62 years of marriage.
Surviving are a son, Rickey A. McAfoose and his wife Diane of Lakeland, Florida. Two daughters, Merla J. McAfoose of Tidioute; Marsha O. Edwards of Warren, PA. Five grandsons, Brad Nuttall and his wife Jennifer of Tidioute; Ryan Houghton and his wife Kelly of Warren; Ian Houghton and his significant other Lindsey, Warren; Aaron Houghton and his wife Tricia, Warren; and Ronnie McAfoose and his wife Maureen of Tidioute. Five granddaughters, Michelle Keahoe and her husband John of Harleysville, PA; Mindy Fox and her husband Tommy of Tidioute; Kristy Wright and her husband Brad of Richmond, Indiana, Georgia; Jessica Nuttall, Tidioute; Lindsay Wise and her husband Kyle of Lander, PA. 14 great grandchildren, 1 great-great granddaughter. A daughter-in-law, Susan McAfoose of Parma Heights, Ohio. Several nieces and nephews. Beulah was also a special babysitter to Kent and Owen Heenan, and Laura Patterson.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Ronald E. McAfoose. Three brothers, Cecil, Willis “Bud” and Charles Silvis. Two sisters, Martha Songer and Vivian Wolfgang. A son-in-law Earl K. Edwards.
Friends will be received at the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home of Tionesta on Thursday from 5-7 PM. Friends will also be received on Friday, October 25, 2024 from 10 – 11 AM at the funeral home followed by a funeral service at 11 AM. Burial will be alongside her husband at the Swedish Union Cemetery in Tidioute.
