Anthony “Tony” Misciskia, age 76, of Tionesta, PA, formerly of Youngstown, OH, died on Saturday afternoon, February 17, 2018, at his residence. He was born in Youngstown on June 4, 1941, son of the late Albert and Josephine (Conti) Misciskia.
Tony served as a Tech Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He married his wife of 48 years, Josephine “Cookie” (Rudzik) Misciskia, in Youngstown on April 12, 1969. He worked as a tech engineer at General Motors in Warren, OH until retiring in 1998. Tony was a member of the Fryburg Sportsman’s Club and enjoyed playing golf and working on cars.
In addition to his wife, Josephine “Cookie” Misciskia, he is survived by his son, Anthony C. “Tony” Misciskia and his wife Jill of Iowa. His daughter, Mary Jo Kline of Tionesta. Four grandchildren: Cory Burton and his wife Valerie of Pittsburgh, PA, Anthony J. Misciskia of Hubbard, OH, and Lillian M. and Tobey D. Misciskia, both of Iowa. His great grandson, Heath R. Burton of Pittsburgh. His sister, Nancy Polon of St. Louis, MO. Several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Albert Misciskia.
There will be no public visitation. All services held will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home of Tionesta.
