Anna M. (Geimer) Lunz Obituary

     Anna M. (Geimer) Lunz, age 91, of Monroeville, PA, formerly of Tionesta, PA, and Troy Hill, PA, died on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Heritage Grove in Penn Hills, PA.  She was born June 3, 1934, in Pittsburgh, PA, daughter of the late Nicholas and Anna (Peiritsch) Geimer.

     On March 10, 1953, in Pittsburgh, she married Francis C. Lunz, Sr., who preceded her in death on April 15, 2014.   She retired from Zayre’s Department Store in 1989, where she worked in the office of the North Side branch as an invoice auditor.  She later worked as a bookkeeper in the office of St. John’s Parish in Tidioute, PA, for 15 years.  Anna attended Most Holy Name of Jesus Roman Catholic Church in Troy Hill, PA, where she was a member of the Christian Mothers.  She also attended St. Anthony Roman Catholic Church in Tionesta, where she served as a eucharistic minister, sang in the choir, and was active with the Ladies’ Guild.  She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Tionesta and enjoyed knitting and quilting.  She also helped to make quilts for the Ronald McDonald House for many years. 

     She is survived by two sons and three daughters: Gary F. Lunz and his wife, Jean, of Pittsburgh; Francis C. Lunz, Jr., and his wife, Jean, of Butler, PA; Mary Jo Hills and her husband, Bruce, of Pittsburgh; Mary Ann Goode of Export, PA; and Bernadette A. Stewart and her husband, Eric, of Butler.  Eight grandchildren survive, as well as eight great-grandchildren, and three step-grandchildren.  She is also survived by three sisters: Dorothy Hancock; Claire Dorsch; Joan Pavicic; along with several nieces and nephews.

     In addition to her parents and husband, Anna was preceded in death by her sisters, Ruth Geimer and Rita Razum.

     Friends will be received from 10 AM to 1 PM on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home of Tionesta.  A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1 PM at St. Anthony Church, 112 Bridge Street, Tionesta, PA, 16353 with Fr. Joseph Kalinowski officiating.  Burial will be alongside her husband at St. John Catholic Cemetery in Tidioute.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony Church, c/o St. John Parish, 25 First Street, Tidioute, PA 16351.
