Richard E. "Rick" "Boone" Downey

    Richard E. “Rick” “Boone” Downey, 59, passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at his residence in Tidioute, PA.  He was born July 24, 1960 in Titusville, PA, the son of the late Richard G. “Boone” and Ellen Jeanne (Owens) Downey. 
   Rick was a graduate of Tidioute High School.  He worked several jobs throughout his lifetime, most recently at Superior Tire and Rubber in Warren, PA.  As an outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.  Rick was an avid fan of the Buffalo Bills.  He also enjoyed attending concerts and was a loyal follower of the Grateful Dead.
   Rick is survived by his son, Jacob R. Downey, of Washington, PA and a grandson, Cilix R. Downey.  He is also survived by a sister, Kathy Hall and her husband Don of Tionesta, PA; and a brother, Greg Downey and his wife Karin of Tidioute.  He will be missed by a niece, three nephews, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Gordon and Fern (Parker) Downey and his maternal grandparents, Charles and Florence (Donaldson) Owens.
    There will be no public visitation.  A memorial service will be held at a later date.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home of Tionesta.  Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
