Nancy Arlene (Griswold) Lewis

   Nancy Arlene (Griswold) Lewis, age 79, of West Hickory, PA (Harmony Twp., Forest County), died suddenly on Friday, June 29, 2018 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.  She was born January 23, 1939 in Corry, PA, daughter of the late Raymond and Bonnie (Sweet) Griswold.  On December 22, 1959 in Tionesta, PA she married William R. “Bill” Lewis who survives.  The couple has resided on Fleming Hill for nearly 58 years. 

   Nancy never missed an opportunity to get out and have a fun time.  She brought laughter to all those around her and was extremely proud of her family and her life.  She will be remembered for being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and a friend to many.  She was a spunky and sassy woman who will be deeply be missed by all those who knew her.

    Nancy enjoyed shopping and spending her winters in Florida.  When she wasn’t chatting on the phone or visiting with friends and family, she was doing crossword puzzles, reading novels, or putting together jigsaw puzzles. She served as the Forest County Judge of Elections for Harmony Twp. for many years.

    Nancy was a hard worker.  She spent her younger years employed at the Evenflo-Crator plant in Tionesta and then at Sylvania in Titusville, PA.  She also greeted many people while working as a receptionist for Dr. Kobylinski (retired dentist), then later worked and finally retired from Blair in Irvine, PA….although her husband Bill claims that she spent most of her life working for him, she was a wonderful housewife to the family home. 

   Nancy cherished the time spent with all of her family and in addition to her husband of over 58 years she is survived by; two sons, Scott A. Lewis and his wife Susan of Tidioute, PA; Randy L. Lewis and his wife Jo Ann of Pleasantville, PA;  Two daughters, Stacy A. Lewis and Kelly R. Lewis, both of Clearwater, FL.

   Two sisters survive, Shirley (Griswold) Carrier and her husband Paul of Erie, PA; and Teddy Long of Cincinnati, OH.    

   Her nine grandchildren; Josh Lewis and his wife Erica of Tyrone, PA; Andre “Andy” Armagost and his wife Wendy of Maynard, MA; Meloni Lewis of Clarion, PA; Randa Lewis and her husband Nick Auge, also of Clarion; Heidi Lewis of Pleasantville, PA; Sasha Lewis of Tidioute, PA; Curtis Lewis, also of Tidioute; Alyce Busch and her husband Randy of Tionesta, PA; and Rhiannon Toombs also of Tionesta. 

   Eight great-grandchildren that she spoiled with love and candy; Laci Lewis, Simon and Olivia Armagost, Avette and Evan Auge, Kyle Shaffer, Ezra and Gabriel Busch.

   In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Raymond “Skip” Griswold; a son Shawn Lewis; and a grandson Dustin Smith.  

   Nancy had a large family and loved every one dearly.  Her family includes many nieces and nephews. 

   There will be no public visitation, all services held will be private.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home of Tionesta.  Memorial contributions may be made to Nancy’s favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
