James M. Reese

James M. “Jim” Reese, age 85, of West Hickory, PA, died on Wednesday morning, April 5, 2017 at his residence.  He was born on August 4, 1931 in East Hickory, PA, son of the late Edward and Lucille (Howe) Reese.

He was married to the late Frances L. (Bunce) Reese, who preceded him in death on December 11, 1991.  Jim was a member of the former East Hickory United Methodist Church and worked as a crane operator for the Struthers Wells in Warren until retiring.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Surviving are two sons, Michael V. Reese and Theodore W. Reese, both of West Hickory.  Two daughters, Margie L. Reese Miller of West Hickory and Faye L. Reese Taylor and her husband Rodney of Tionesta, PA.  Four grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.  A brother, Frank G. Reese of Erie, PA.  Three sisters, Edna “Aunt Sis” Mealy of Shippenville, PA, and Margaret “Aunt Snooks” Leach and Eleanor “Aunt Sue” Gatesman, both of Leeper, PA.  Several nieces and nephews also survive, as well as his beloved dog, Hershey.

In addition to his parents and wife, Jim was preceded in death by four brothers: Ted, Bob, Gordon, and Pete Reese, and a sister, Glodella Lewis.

There will be no public visitation, all services held will be private.  Burial will be in the East Hickory Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home of Tionesta.
