Helen M. (Johnston) “McWilliams” Kinch, age 88, of Tionesta, PA, died on Wednesday morning, June 19, 2019, at Shippenville Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Shippenville, PA. She was born May 16, 1931 in Tionesta, daughter of the late Charles and Bertha (Hunter) Johnston.
Helen graduated from Tionesta High School with the class of 1949. On June 11, 1947 she married her first husband, Arley J. McWilliams, who preceded her in death on October 20, 1986. On June 5, 1998 she married her second husband, Wade C. Kinch, who also preceded her in death on July 14, 2007. Along with her sister, Helen owned “M&M Ceramics” in Tionesta in the 60’s. She also owned and operated “The Thread Shop” in Tionesta in the 1960’s/70’s, and she also sold Avon products. She was previously employed by the former Evenflo-Crator in Tionesta and GTE Sylvania in Pleasantville. She attended the Tionesta Church of God.
She is survived by three daughters: Marilyn M. Baine and her husband Douglas of Shippenville; Kathy J. McCunn and her husband Harvey of Indiana, PA; and Robin S. Kahle and her husband Dennis of Leeper, PA. Seven grandchildren. Eight great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her first and second husbands she was preceded in death by her brother, Linas Johnston; two sisters, Grace McMichael and Freda Carnahan.
Friends will be received on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Norman J. Wimer Funeral home of Tionesta. Friends will continue to be received on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at the Tionesta Church of God 1582 Route 36, Tionesta, PA 16353 from 10 to 11 AM followed by a Funeral Service at 11 AM with Pastor Terry E. McGarrity officiating. Burial will be at the Wolf’s Corners Cemetery, Tionesta. Memorial contributions may be made to the Tionesta Church of God Memorial Fund, P.O.
