Doris C. (Fregia) Kibbe

   Doris C. Kibbe, age 89, of Tionesta, PA, died on Monday, December 24, 2018, at her home in President Twp, Venango County, PA on Kibbe’s Island near Tionesta.  She was born August 4, 1929 in Liberty , Texas, daughter of the late Silvia and Cora (Waschiean) Fregia. 

   On January 30, 1965 in Florida she married Lester E. Kibbe who died just nine days ago on December 15, 2018.  Doris along with her husband owned and operated Kibbe Island Campground of Tionesta.  She was a member of the American Legion Post # 7 Ladies Auxiliary in Clearwater, Florida. 

   Surviving are two sons, James L. Whitmire and his wife Sandra of Tionesta; Larry L. Whitmire and his wife Valentina of Clearwater, Florida.  A daughter, Peggy D. Lewis of Lafayette, Louisiana.  A step-son, Alvin R. Kibbe and is wife Nancy of Baytown, Texas.  A step-daughter, Gloria Kibbe Sams and her husband Walter of Athens, Georgia. 

   Nine grandchildren, Jamy C. Whitmire and his significant other Andrea Scott of Clearwater, Florida; Kimberly Lewis of Lafayette, Louisiana; Ronda Lynn Duncan-Yeschke of Oil City, PA; Kacie Miller and her husband Josh of Mercer, PA; Kate Whitmire and her significant other Ben of Tionesta; Christopher M. Northrop and his wife Angie of Senoia, Georgia; Jennifer Sams Andreas and her husband Mitchell of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Jessica A. Sams of Sherman Oaks, California; Jefferson Skyler Kibbe of Baytown, Texas.  There are several great-grandchildren including Korie Yeschke of Oil City.    

   One sister, Nelda Thourea, of Liberty, Texas.  Several nieces and nephews.  Special thanks to caregivers April Hoover and Joe Yeschke for their loving care to both Doris and Lester.    

   In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Glenn Whitmire; two grandsons, Ronald W. “Beau” Lewis and LaVell Whitmire.  A granddaughter, Heidi Whitmire.  Four brothers, Jay, Delbert, Lawrence and Dan Fregia.  Three sisters, Athleia Jordan, Zillia Payden and Shattie Taylor.

    Friends will be received on Thursday from 5-7PM at the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home of Tionesta.  Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 28, 2018, at 11am at the funeral home with Rev. Kathy Dom, Pastor of the Tionesta United Methodist Church, officiating.  Visitation and services will continue in Liberty Texas at Allison Funeral Service.  Burial will be alongside her mother in Oak Dale Cemetery, Daisetta, Texas.  Memorial Contributions may be made to the Tionesta Amvets Post # 113  PO Box 113 Tionesta, PA  16353
