Donald R. “Duck” Kiffer, age 85, of West Hickory, PA, died on Wednesday morning, February 20, 2019 at his residence in Harmony Twp, Forest County, Pa. He was born in Endeavor, PA on March 11, 1933, son of the late Calvin and Ruth (Deschner) Kiffer.
Duck served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He married his wife of 64 years, Martha L. (Lewis) Kiffer in West Hickory on November 12, 1954. She survives. He retired from Cyclops Steel in Titusville, PA where he worked as a swing grinder. After retiring, he worked part time for Jones Excavating of Endeavor. Duck was a dedicated member of the West Hickory Volunteer Fire Department for many years. He enjoyed playing shuffleboard and spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by five grandchildren: Tammy McKee Schwab and her husband James of Tidioute, PA, Lisa M. Byers also of Tidioute, Jessica L. Vincent and her significant other Keith Kysor of Grand Valley, PA, Adam Vincent of Tidioute, and Jacob Vincent of Sugar Grove, PA. Twelve great grandchildren. Two great-great grandchildren. Two sons-in-law, Dale K. McKee and James Vincent, both of Tidioute. Several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Danny L. Kiffer. Two daughters, Bobbi K. McKee and Vicki L. Vincent. Also deceased are his brother, Charles “Skip” Kiffer, and two sisters, Nellie Bloom and Anna Mae Passerotti.
There will be no public visitation. All services held will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home of Tionesta. Memorial contributions may be made to the West Hickory Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 8, West Hickory, PA 16370.
