Clara Jane (Stover) Gold Swimm, age 85, of Tionesta, PA, died on Wednesday, August 23, 2018 at Warren General Hospital, Warren, PA. She was born May 3, 1933 in West Hickory, PA, daughter of the late Arthur and Pearl (Norton) Stover. She was married to Eugene Gold and later to William Swimm both whom preceded her in death.
Clara worked as a waitress and a cook at a restaurant in Oil City, PA and worked as a waitress and a hostess at the Circle Grill in Texas. She was also employed in Texas at Texas Instruments. She was a free spirit who loved her family, friends, dancing, bingo, casinos, and meeting new people. Her passion was traveling, learning, and exploring new things. In the back of a station wagon, her children saw most of America’s interesting places: an education on wheels.
Surviving are two sons, Barry L. Gold and his wife Luann of Austin, Texas; Daniel L. Gold of Erie, PA. Four daughters, Bobbie L. Ferguson of Seagoville, Texas; Ronda L. Gold of Desoto, Texas; Christine L. Daum of Lucinda, PA; and April L. Smith of Waterford, PA. Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Two brothers, Ron Stover of Warren, and Clarence Stover of Pittsburgh, PA. Three sisters, Mary Vanderhoff of Warren; Lola Busch, of Franklin, PA; and Eleanor Mealy of Titusville, PA. Several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husbands she was preceded in death by three sons in infancy. One granddaughter, Elizabeth Rodriguez. Five brothers, Albert, George, Arthur Jr, James and Thomas Stover. One sister, Etta Berlin.
Friends will be received at the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home of Tionesta on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 from 1-2 P.M., at which time a memorial service will occur with Chaplain David Johnson officiating.
