Carole A. Zofcin

    Carole A. Zofcin, age 71, of East Hickory, PA, died on Friday morning, March 15, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family.  She was born in Pittsburgh, PA on January 15, 1948, daughter of the late Elmer S. Lang and Jean (Baticki) Woods of Oil City, who survives.

    She married her husband of 53 years, Paul J. Zofcin, in Cumberland, MD on August 23, 1965.  He survives.  A registered nurse, Carole worked for many years as the Director of Nursing at Windsor House at Snyder Memorial Healthcare Center in Marienville, PA.  She later worked as an RN for Clarion Forest VNA.  Catholic by faith, Carole attended mass at both St. Anthony’s in Tionesta, PA and St. John’s in Tidioute, PA until her health prevented it.  She was a member of VFW Post 8803 in Tidioute. 

    In addition to her mother and husband, she is survived by her three sons, Paul J. Zofcin, Jr. and his wife Donna of Marienville, Kirk D. Zofcin of Tionesta, and Mark A. Zofcin and his wife Jessica of East Hickory.  Six grandchildren, Joseph G. Zofcin of Marienville, Kyrstin N. Altman and her husband Stephen of East Hickory, Trevor J. Zofcin of Marienville, Kirk D. Zofcin, Jr. of Sheffield, PA, Mark A. Zofcin, Jr. of East Hickory, and Paige A. Zofcin, also of East Hickory.  One great granddaughter, Madison N. Altman.  Her brother, David Lang and his wife Joannie of New York State.  Her sister, Diana Lang of Jupiter, FL.  Several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

    In addition to her father, Carole was preceded in death by her stepfather, Robert Woods.

    Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. on Sunday, March 17, 2018 and from 10-11 A.M. on Monday, March 18,2019 at the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home of Tionesta.  A Blessing Service will be conducted at 11 A.M. on Monday, March 18, 2019 at the funeral home with Rev. Ray Hudson of the Christian Assembly of Greenville, PA officiating.  Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Tionesta.
