Beverly A. (Gilbert) Lauer

Beverly A. (Gilbert) Lauer, age 79, of Tionesta, PA, died on Monday evening, October 9, 2017, at the Titusville Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, in Titusville, PA.  She was born August 20, 1938 in the Tionesta area, daughter of the late Robert R. and Gladys (Zuendel) Leonard, Sr.

On May 8, 1982, in Clarion, PA, she married her husband, Robert J. “Pete” Lauer, who survives.  Beverly was employed by the Forest Area School District in Tionesta as the Director of the School Lunch program until her retirement.  She was a member of St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church in Tionesta, where she served in the Ladies Guild.  Beverly was a strong, loving wife and mother who loved camping, cooking, spending time outdoors, and especially vacationing in Florida.

In addition to her husband, Robert J. “Pete” Lauer, she is survived by two sons, Lonald D. Gilbert and his wife Denise of Atlanta, GA, and Todd E. Gilbert of Tionesta.  One stepson, Robert A. Lauer of New Castle, PA.  Two stepdaughters, Karen S. Watson and her husband Michael and E. Michelle Weeter and her husband Michael, all of Oil City, PA.  Twelve grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.  Two sisters, Kathryn Rafalski in North Carolina, and Betty Poltrack and her husband Peter in Georgia.  Several nieces and nephews.

Beverly was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her first husband, Norris E. Gilbert whom she married in October of 1960 in Tionesta and who died June 15, 1975.  One grandson, Bobby Lauer.  Two brothers, Gordon “Till” Leonard and Robert Leonard, Jr.  One sister, Janet Kinch.  Two nieces, Kelli Kinch and Amy Nelson

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 11 A.M. at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church in Tionesta, with Father Joseph Kalinowski celebrating the Mass.  Burial at Starr Cemetery in Tionesta.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home of Tionesta.
