Alfred R. Walters

Alfred R. Walters, age 87, of Tionesta, PA, died on Tuesday evening, April 4, 2017 at the Titusville Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Titusville, PA.

He was born June 21, 1929 in Newmansville, PA, son of the late Andrew G. and Georgeda (Fox) Walters.  Alfred served a Sergeant in the U.S. Army in the Korean War.  He married his wife of 62 years, Mildred J. (Goble) Walters in Clarion, PA on April 5, 1954.  He retired from Vertical Seal Company in Pleasantville, PA, where he worked as a machinist.  He enjoyed woodworking.

Alfred is survived by his wife, Mildred J. (Goble) Walters; two sons, Vincent J. Walters and his wife Janice and Wesley A. Walters, all of Tionesta; and a daughter, Mary A. Price and her significant other, Robert A. Pringle, of Tionesta.  Six grandchildren and four great grandsons also survive, along with several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Walters, in infancy, and six brothers and a sister: Andrew, Jim, Lester, Lawrence, Daniel, Eugene, and Dorothy.

There will be no public visitation; all services held will be private.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home of Tionesta.
