Joan Marie Ellis

   Joan Marie Ellis, age 91, of Tionesta, PA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at the Titusville Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Titusville, PA. She was a longtime resident at The Tionesta Manor.

     She was born October 11, 1932, in Olean, New York, daughter of the late James H. and Aldean R. (Osterman) Hammond. They later moved to Oil City, PA, where they resided until their deaths. She was an only child.

     Joan married Robert E. Ellis of Tionesta, son of Charlotte and Charles Ellis, on September 15, 1950.  Robert passed on May 5, 1996.

     Surviving are a son Robert J. Ellis of McCool, Mississippi, and a daughter, Debra D. Reese and her husband Gary of Houston, Texas. Four grandchildren, Victor Rigby, Ashleyn Eakin, Kimberly Reese, and Kenneth Reese, and three great grandchildren, Katelyn, Keagan, and Bentley.

     In addition to her parents and husband, Joan was preceded in death by her son, William Keith Ellis, Terry Ellis, daughter-in-law and wife of Robert J. Ellis, and her cat and beloved companion, Tanyo.

     Joan's family would like to thank the staff of The Tionesta Manor, Donna Neely, and Robyn Perhach, for their loving friendship and kindness over the past 20+ years. We would also like to thank Louella Swank for being a true friend to Joan.

     There will be no public visitation, all services held will be private. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Tionesta.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home of Tionesta.
