Elsie V. (McKean) Ressler

     Elsie V. (McKean) Ressler, age 83, of Tidioute, PA, died on Tuesday morning, January 16, 2024 at her home in Tidioute.  She was born on the family farm in Tidioute on May 25, 1940, daughter of the late Lyle L. and Savilla E. (Storer) McKean.

     Elsie graduated from Tidioute High School in the class of 1958 and attended Tidioute United Methodist Church as a young adult.  On July 3, 1974, in Warren, PA, she married Thomas D. Ressler, who preceded her in death on July 18, 2014.  Elsie worked for 25 years in the accounting department at Warren State Hospital before retiring.  She was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #109 in Warren.  She was an avid golfer and was a regular on the links at Jackson Valley and Hunters Station Golf Courses.  She enjoyed traveling, going on cruises, and bowling.

     She is survived by her daughter, Kelley M. McKean, of Tidioute.  Three stepsons: Tim Ressler and his wife Mickie in Florida, Terry Ressler and his wife Janice of Warren, PA, and Thomas R. Ressler in Montana.  Eight grandchildren and several great grandchildren.  Six nieces and nephews, including Dylan Anderson, whom she helped raise, and several great nieces and great nephews. 

     In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Carrie Ressler.  Two brothers, George Bernard McKean and Edward “Pat” McKean; and one sister, Millie Louise Anderson. 

     Friends will be received from 5-8 P.M. on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home in Tionesta.  Services will be held at 1 P.M. on Friday, January 19, 2024 at the funeral home with Rev. Trevor Y. Smith, associate pastor of Starbrick Community Church, officiating.  Burial will be at Limestone Cemetery in Tidioute.
