Joy E. Holt, age 75, of Tionesta, PA, died on Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at her home in Tionesta. She was born December 20, 1942 in Mayburg, PA, daughter of the late Strickland L. and Cleston (Slocum) Porter.
On July 20, 1962 at the Lickingville EUB Church, she married Charles H. Holt who survives. The couple started out as elementary school sweethearts, meeting in the seventh grade. She and her husband were inseparable, as they both drove school bus for the Forest Area School District, both worked the tour bus for Mary’s Little Lamb Tours of Curllsville, PA, and later delivered the Oil City Derrick and the Clarion News to hundreds of subscribers around the area. Joy also worked various positions at the Forest County Courthouse for 16 years. She loved working with crafts and playing the organ.
Surviving in addition to her husband Chuck is their daughter, Ellen L. Holt of Tionesta. Several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Donald L. Porter, and sister, Betty L. Sliker.
Friends will be received at the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home of Tionesta on Saturday, January 27, 2018 from 10 A.M. to noon at which time services will be held with Rev. Samuel J. Wagner, Associate Pastor of Christ United Methodist Church in Franklin, PA, officiating. Burial will be at Washington Cemetery, Washington Twp., Clarion Co., PA.
