Howard W. "Bud" Miller

   Howard W. “Bud” Miller, age 79, of East Hickory, PA, died on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at his home in East Hickory surrounded by his family.  He was born December 3, 1937 in Mayburg, PA, son of the late Carl E. and Myrtle (Littlefield) Miller. 

   On October 24, 1959 he married Julia L. (Stroup) Miller who survives.  Bud retired from Cytemp of Titusville (formerly Cyclops) where he worked for 30 years in the Annealing Department.  He was previously employed by Evenflo-Crator of Tionesta.  He served as a Sergeant in the US Marine Corps also stationed in Japan and Korea as an air craft mechanic and Air Sea Rescue. He was also a member of the former East Hickory Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, racing, and spending time with his family. He had a great sense of humor and was always there to lend a hand or offer advice when needed. Bud was a hard worker with a positive attitude who instilled good morals and values for generations.

   In addition to his wife Julia of nearly 58 years, also surviving are four sons,  Todd H. Miller and his wife Donna; Michael K. Miller; Keith E. Miller and his wife Donna, all of East Hickory; Terry A. Miller and his wife Lisa Kay of West Hickory.  Three grandsons, Michael T. Miller and his wife Megan of East Hickory; Joshua A. Miller and his wife Kasie of Mercer; Kyle K. Miller of East Hickory.  Two granddaughters, Kaylan J. Kaputa and her husband Ryan of East Hickory; Terra K. Miller of West Hickory.  Five great-grandchildren, two step grandchildren and four step great-grandchildren.  Several nieces and nephews. 

   In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Carl Jr., Mike, and Clyde Miller.   Six sisters, Cleone Hansen; Dorothy Arnold; Ruth Vincent; Thelma Lamb; Irene Hawthorne; Jenny Walters.

   Friends will be received at the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home of Tionesta on Thursday from 6-8 PM.  Friends will then be received on Friday, September 22, 2017, from 10 -11 AM followed by Funeral Services with Lay Pastor Roger Z. Snyder officiating.   Full military rights will be accorded by the Titusville VFW Post # 5958 Honor Guard.
