Clifford Arlington "Arlie" Gess, Jr.

   Clifford Arlington “Arlie” Gess Jr., age 83, of Tionesta, PA, died on Friday, April 28, 2017 at the Titusville Area Hospital in Titusville, PA.  He was born January 20, 1934 in Apollo, PA, Armstrong County, son of the late Clifford Arlington Gess Sr. and Nellie Eliza (Brown) Gess.

   On February 10, 1972 in New Kensington, PA he married Loretta H. (Sosinski) Gess who survives.  

   Clifford was career military serving with the US Air Force for 20 years during the Korean and Vietnam wars as well as other tours and theaters.  He retired as a Tech-Sergeant and worked on the F-4 Phantom.  He then was employed by Citizens General Hospital in New Kensington where he worked as a Material Control Coordinator retiring in 1989.   He was a member of the Lower Burrell VFW Post # 92.  He was Catholic by faith, and loved to hunt and tinker in his garage. 

   Surviving in addition to his wife are several nieces and nephews, and his three canine companions, Boots, Holly and Cocoa. 

   In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. 

   There will be no public vistiation.  A memorial service may be announced at a later date.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home of Tionesta. Memorial contributions may be made to the Tionesta Amvets Post #113 PO Box 24 Tionesta, PA 16353.
